Apple announced special event on October 13th, iPhone 12 release expected
Apple has just sent out invitations to its next special event which, undoubtedly, will reveal the next iPhone and more. Here are all the details we know for sure, and how we should interpret the invitation. Look closely and you can always find some clues. Last time around, the words Time Flies told us to expect the next Apple Watch. This time, Apple has said: “Hi, Speed.”
There are two things to deduce from that: first, the A14 Bionic chip is going to be extremely fast. Second, that one of the most open secrets about the iPhone 12, that it will be the first iPhone with 5G connectivity, is as good as confirmed. The iPhone 12 will likely be the event’s main attraction. But there are also other rumored products said to be in Apple’s pipeline. These include AirTags, a Bluetooth tracker for locating lost items using your iPhone, as well as a faster new Apple TV and Apple’s first pair of over-ear headphones. How about the colors? These are always illuminating in Apple’s invites. This time last year the colors were exactly prefiguring the colors the iPhone 12 would come in. And last month’s invite had an emphasis on the color blue, which turned out to be the headline shade for both the Apple Watch Series 6 and the iPad Air which were announced.
We’ve heard rumors of a navy-blue iPhone this year, so that’s certainly there in this invitation, and the Apple Watch that was announced in September also featured a newly refreshed gold color. So, perhaps the next iPhone will come in a similarly new-minted gold shade. It’s highly possible there could be more products than the above – Apple’s invites never give everything away. One possibility is that the next Apple TV will be announced. Or maybe even an iPad Pro with the new A14 Bionic chip, or a version of it, on board, though I personally think that’s unlikely.
